Police in Leicester arrested a man, who was arraigned on Tuesday, after they seized a kilo of cocaine and $4,000 cash from his home on Monday.

The Leicester Police Department said officers and K9 unites executed a search warrant, along with the Spencer Police Department assigned to the Western Worcester County Major Crimes Task Force, of a home in Leicester on Monday.

During the search, police said a kilo of cocaine, with an approximate street value of $80,000was seized, along with over $4,000 in cash.

Police then arrested Luis Daniel Burgos Cruz, 37 of Canovanas, Puerto Rico.

He was taken into custody at the scene, booked and bail was set at $10,000.

Burgos Cruz was then transported to East Brookfield District Court on Tuesday morning where he was arraigned on charges of cocaine trafficking and conspiracy to violate the drug law.

Police said Burgos Cruz is now being held without bail, as a result of a dangerousness hearing on Tuesday.
